Aesop has reached a new milestone in the development of the team: 2,000 points.
The team has had a fantastic start to the season with a series of great results in division 2. Going into the new season ranked 84th, Aesop is now 25th halfways into the campaign. On the race ranking, reflecting only points won this season, the team has the 8th best performance of the first half of the season with 1,440 points (yesterday, day 45).
The leap reflects the arrival of two new riders this season: primarily Blazej Urbanek, our captain for the cobbles, ranked in the riders' top 10 until a few days ago, and partly a strengthening of the sprinting team with veteran Tadesse Awerson, who has come in recently and delivered some good results.
The top 10 ranking is unrealistic to maintain for long as the team will now compete against much tougher riders in the first division. However, it would be considered a fantastic achievement if Aesop is still ranked 25th after the World Championships on day 90. The focus now is to stay in the top division.
